Basic Emergency Medical Studies (EMT)

This certificate is based on the training program developed by the Department of Transportation and the Emergency Medical Services Commission of Indiana. It covers theories, techniques, and operational aspects of pre-hospital emergency care within the scope and responsibility of the emergency medical technician (EMT). It requires laboratory practice and clinical observation in a hospital emergency room and ambulance. Successful completion meets Indiana requirements to test for certification as an EMT. This certificate is available at Ivy Tech Community College in the Certificate (CT) format.

NOTE: This program requires that recipients file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and be eligible for Title IV financial aid. The Workforce Ready Grant is not based on family income.
