Medical Scribe Professional

A medical scribe specializes in charting physician-patient encounters in real-time. The also locate information and patients for physicians and complete forms as needed. Medical scribes are in high demand. Completing this program will allow a student to be designated as an Apprentice Medical Scribe Professional (AMSP) – by American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group. Students may remove apprentice status once they have completed 200 hours as a medical scribe, and then have the credential of Certified Medical Scribe Professional (CMSP). This 18 credit hour certificate (CT) prepares students to become a certified Medical Scribe. Medical Scribe is an emerging area and is in high demand. Students are required to complete an internship as part of the program.

NOTE: This program requires that recipients file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and be eligible for Title IV financial aid. The Workforce Ready Grant is not based on family income.
