Production Technician, Skills for Success

A production technician can be a manufacturer’s frontline defense against defective products and quality issues. In order to be effective in this role, employees must have a baseline of skills to ensure accuracy including problem-solving skills, analytics, communication, and the ability to work well with others.

The Production Technician Skills for Success program is a 20-day program geared toward helping individuals in the manufacturing industry or new to the industry prepare for a career as a production technician. The structure of the program is geared around developing the primary skillset needed including quality tools and techniques, principles of lean manufacturing, safety, basic pneumatics and hydraulics, along with an introduction to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. The courses are both hands-on and instructional, and taught by professionals with experience in the manufacturing industry.

This training provides a Purdue University Certificate of Learning, MSSC Certified Production Technician Certificate (upon passing the MSSC exam), and an OSHA 10-Hour – General Industry card.
